Summary:
At 110 acres, RAF Uxbridge is the largest development site in West London, and is in an accessible and sustainable location close to Uxbridge town centre, tube station, the Chimes Shopping Centre and the High Street. It has been designated for residential-led mixed-use development by the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers an unrivalled opportunity for a sustainable, mixed-use scheme.
Size: 110 acres.
Vacant possession: Anticipated Late 2010.
Estimated disposal date: A phased disposal starting in 2010
Planning update:
The LB Hillingdon adopted its Supplementary Planning Document [SPD] for the RAF Uxbridge site in January 2009. This sets out the Council’s guidance for comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment of the site. Following public consultation on VSM Estates’ draft proposals for RAF Uxbridge in May 2009, a planning application will be submitted in December 2009.
VSM Estates' planning application will include:
- 47 acres of open space, including a public park alongside the River Pinn, part of which is in the Green Belt which a 35 acre district park
- Approximately 1,425 new homes, including affordable homes;
- 20,000 sq m of mixed-use commercial development, including new retail and offices.
- The inclusion of a site for a new 1,200-seat theatre with ancillary café.
- The inclusion of sites for warden-assisted elderly accommodation, a GP surgery, a primary school and a hotel.
