Our Schemes
Project MoDEL (Ministry of Defence Estate in London) is a flagship project for Defence Estates. It will see the relocation of existing London-based units to RAF Northolt; the development of an integrated, state-of-the-art anchor site at Northolt; and the disposal of sites surplus to Defence Estates’ requirements.
Launched in October 2002, Project MoDEL is an implementation of the MoD Estate Strategy with roots lying in the Government’s 1998 Strategic Defence Review. Project MoDEL was created to consolidate the Defence Estate in Greater London and provide world class facilities and accommodation for the UK’s service men and women.
VSM Estates will be responsible for delivering the entire project – through funding and project managing the construction requirements; the relocation of units to Northolt and the actual disposal of the surplus sites.
Through MoDEL, hundreds of airmen and women, soldiers and sailors will be re-housed in high quality accommodation at RAF Northolt, which will be given a £180 million facelift.
